Life Changing Moments
Dr. Jennifer grew up very active in athletics competing in basketball, golf, volleyball, track and field, softball, and cross-country. Her family knew that chiropractic care could help heal the injuries she received playing these sports. Her first adjustment as a teenager was a very positive experience. Not only did her chiropractor help relieve her aches and pains, but he inspired her to pursue a career in chiropractic! The summer before her freshman year of college she injured her wrist playing basketball. This severely affected her golf game during her first year on the golf team at Central College in Pella, Iowa. She quit playing golf because of her injury, the game that had brought her so much joy the majority of her life. The next year she transferred to the University of Iowa, eventually graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. While pursuing her doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic she discovered Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) while visiting Dr. Todd Slattery, who had previously helped other family members in her hometown. A.R.T. is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia

Eating well has impacted her family’s life significantly. Her family members diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) and eczema have been greatly impacted by diet changes. She is passionate about eating well and can often be found in the summer at a local farmers market.
